When Animals Attack 2 is a sequel; it is a mix with FF and B&D elements. You get unlimited villagers, Ornlus and war elephants to attack a well defended fortification of humans.
PLAYABILITY: There is not much to do apart from moving elephants, wolves and villagers from the spawn points and later you find out that you only need villagers to win. The enemy army’s majority is closed in and easy to eliminate with castles from the outside. The polluters give up when their last military unit is killed, before you fulfil your objective. 2
BALANCE: The scenario was played twice on hardest, was not challenging and is impossible to loose. The enemy has a FF, most of them behind fortified walls. Player 1 has unlimited access to war elephants, Ornlus and villagers. An army of Samurais attacks your villagers in the beginning, but you win easy with the elephants. Later it is enough to build some castles near the walls; you have 99’999 stone and plenty of stone mines. 2-
CREATIVITY: The idea to produce unlimited units shows some creativity. 2
MAP DESIGN: The map is pathetic, flat green grass 1, the trees are done with a big brush and square walls and cursed towers serve as enemy fortification. 1+
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: No story, you win without reaching all of your objectives and you can not put pieces of the true cross into a monastery. 2
OVERALL: Playability and balance scored higher than in the first part, but the map design lowers the overall rating.
SUGGESTIONS: Give resources and villagers to player 2 and put gates into the walls, for a better balance player 2 should be able to recreate some unlimited units too. Use a random map next time and try a small story, where you explain why the animals attack.
IN CLOSING: For an unusual experience it is worth a download.
