Fixed Force |
Bertrand walked back to camp, where a handful of other survivors waited for him. He reflected on the accidents of birth that brought him to this time and place. And he prepared a last letter to his father.
Control the remnants of an imperial army as they fight a hopeless last stand against the natives who once slaved in their mines. Then switch sides and control the natives as they struggle to drive the imperials out. If you can conquer the imperials faster than the computer did in round one, you win!
Features:
* Five locations that give bonuses if captured, including a higher population cap and extra units.
* Three magical native powers, including invulnerability, wolf swarm, and unlock gates.
* Morale failure when heroes die.
* New sound effects and narration.
* Highly replayable scenario with randomly-chosen computer strategies and different skill level settings.
* Part madness-level, part fixed-force.
* From the creator of Christmas Morning

THIS IS A VERY AMAZING SKENARIO.
This is absolutely the greatest skenario i've ever played, i already touch at the first second the game started, when Betrand send a letter to his father(was that your voice, Yogurt ?), and i really really like the idea of playing both side and choosing wich army that will fight with you, it make this skenario different every time you play it, great piece of work Yogurt, you'r the man,
looking forward for your next skenario

Hey um excuse me, but how did you do that neat statue trick in this scenario? I'd like to try it but I don't know how units can stand on a water area THAT narrow, though I know having land units stand and move on water is posible through some trigger trick that has to do with bridges being removed in the game.

Email me if you dont know how to do this.
Good job, yogurt. A lot better than Christmas Morning. But CM was about imagination, which is why it got a good rating.
We'll be waiting for more. |

This is a great scenario in which you are the the imperial army the first round and the natives the second. The Imperial objective is to secure the Garden of Hereos and the native objective is to take back the garden. In the first round you are the imperials and you choose which soldiers you want to fight with. You must valaintly meet your destiny and defend the Garden of Heroes to the last. The longer you last the easier the second part is. Once you loose that section (you will) you take on the role of the barbarian tribe. You have as much time as you held out in the first round to capture it.
Playability---
The bore factor in this scenario is a big fat zero. I spent hours immersed in the amusemant that this scenario gave me! The realistic sounds and dialouge really brought life to the game. This scenario has infinite replay value as you can try and hold out longer than you did last time. Try to get better and better. I give it a 5+
Balance---
This is proof that Yogurt knows what he is doing. This is and extremely well balanced scenario that always retains a challenge. This area also reserves the right to the highest score--5
Creativity---
This is extremely creative in almost every aspect of the design. The garden statues of Huskarls and jousters looked unmoving (they weren't moving, yes you heard me correctly.)They were frozen and so real. The creative tribe names and playing style of this makes it a blast to play! Another 5 is dished out!
Mapdesign---
An old garden, full of statues of heroes of old. This is another shinning aspect of the game. The tranquil surrondings soon turn into a raw and ruthless battle ground. I shall ration this aspect with another 5.
Story/Instructions---
I was not baffled by any thing in this scenario. It was quite smooth. And the story line had me hooked. Even though the story line wasn't huge like a 6 scenario campaign, it was more than enough, I give it another 5.
My final thoughts---
Download this! It is the most challenging scenarios I have played, and yet it is still fun! I give it a total of 5! |

Playability: 5
I downloaded this map a few hours ago and the ONLY reason I'm not playing right now is because my AoE crashed. But I don't think it is due to the map since I had played it several, several times. I had a 10 minute battle over whether to write a review or go back and play it again.
Balance: 5
Even on easy this map is hard. But I've gotten so close to winning that I know it isn't impossible. Which adds to the playability also. It keeps me coming back.
Creativity: 5
Brilliant mind at work. Granted the whole defend and siege thing is what a lot of people do. But do defend and then have to beat the computers time. Thats beautiful. And the three skills you can get adds a whole new level. I select my men based on what the computer did last time. And bang they have a new skill and my guys are all in the wrong places and the wrong types.
Map Design: 5
Wonderfully made city and starting points. Bottleneck entrances for great battles. Gates for traitors. And a nice walk for the reinforcements. The scenery is well placed also.
Story/Instructions: 5
A map with a plot. I love it.
Additional Comments:
I'm hooked. |
