Bertrand walked back to camp, where a handful of other survivors waited for him. He reflected on the accidents of birth that brought him to this time and place. And he prepared a last letter to his father.

In this RPG-filled Blacksmith, at times it can be difficult to find that rare diamond in the rough, that true masterpiece among the mediocre scenarios. Dear surfer, if you have not downloaded Yogurt's "Final Hour" yet, you are truly missing out on a jewel you will want to play over and over again.
The scenario was so playable, I played it numerous times and was still far from bored. It's the multiple choices that make one want to play this scenario again. One can choose a difficulty level, and, in addition, the units that will compose of one's army. Yogurt really blew me away here - wait until you see the magnificent interface he has designed for this purpose.
The balance is truly perfect, in all means of the word. It shows that Yogurt has spent a very long time balancing this scenario. It'll suit you whether you are a mere newbie or a experienced player.
Plus, Yogurt must be a very creative designer if he thought of the initial interface in the beginning and the plot twist, just when you think the game is over, the spells that can be used at any time... a true work of art, ladies and gentlemen! You will wonder "How did he do that?", I guarantee!
The map design is truly great. Yogurt skipped no detail in making a wonderful fortress with amazing surroundings. A feast for the eyes. I don't know what it is, but it's just fun invading a beautiful fort with a tranquil surrounding...
The instructions, unlike some scenarios ('Kil da red guy and win!!!') truly made me care about the hero. I wanted to make him succeed. Yogurt has truly succeeded in this part, at least according to this astounded Ager.
Overall, this scenario is so great I feel like playing it again. The creator of the magnificent "Christmas Morning" is back, big time. Do not miss this masterpiece!
This is a great scenario in which you are the the imperial army the first round and the natives the second. The Imperial objective is to secure the Garden of Hereos and the native objective is to take back the garden. In the first round you are the imperials and you choose which soldiers you want to fight with. You must valaintly meet your destiny and defend the Garden of Heroes to the last. The longer you last the easier the second part is. Once you loose that section (you will) you take on the role of the barbarian tribe. You have as much time as you held out in the first round to capture it.
The bore factor in this scenario is a big fat zero. I spent hours immersed in the amusemant that this scenario gave me! The realistic sounds and dialouge really brought life to the game. This scenario has infinite replay value as you can try and hold out longer than you did last time. Try to get better and better. I give it a 5+
This is proof that Yogurt knows what he is doing. This is and extremely well balanced scenario that always retains a challenge. This area also reserves the right to the highest score--5
This is extremely creative in almost every aspect of the design. The garden statues of Huskarls and jousters looked unmoving (they weren't moving, yes you heard me correctly.)They were frozen and so real. The creative tribe names and playing style of this makes it a blast to play! Another 5 is dished out!
An old garden, full of statues of heroes of old. This is another shinning aspect of the game. The tranquil surrondings soon turn into a raw and ruthless battle ground. I shall ration this aspect with another 5.
I was not baffled by any thing in this scenario. It was quite smooth. And the story line had me hooked. Even though the story line wasn't huge like a 6 scenario campaign, it was more than enough, I give it another 5.
My final thoughts---
Download this! It is the most challenging scenarios I have played, and yet it is still fun! I give it a total of 5!
I downloaded this map a few hours ago and the ONLY reason I'm not playing right now is because my AoE crashed. But I don't think it is due to the map since I had played it several, several times. I had a 10 minute battle over whether to write a review or go back and play it again.
Even on easy this map is hard. But I've gotten so close to winning that I know it isn't impossible. Which adds to the playability also. It keeps me coming back.
Brilliant mind at work. Granted the whole defend and siege thing is what a lot of people do. But do defend and then have to beat the computers time. Thats beautiful. And the three skills you can get adds a whole new level. I select my men based on what the computer did last time. And bang they have a new skill and my guys are all in the wrong places and the wrong types.
Map Design: 5
Wonderfully made city and starting points. Bottleneck entrances for great battles. Gates for traitors. And a nice walk for the reinforcements. The scenery is well placed also.
A map with a plot. I love it.
Final Hour is a very creative and enjoyable scenario. It is literally a big battle but it is a very fun kill fest. Final Hour is one of the most enjoyable FF scenarios in the Blacksmith and it is also a scenario you can play over and over and over again. It is amazing that seeing as though it has been in the Blacksmith for 10 years, people are still playing it.
I played Final Hour quite a while ago and the only problem I found with it is the Balance. I found it extremely difficult with my small number of soldiers. I think it might be because I chose the wrong ones but none the less I am only going to give the scenario a 4 because I found it extremely hard to complete and I had to retry it several times. Final Hour is still a great game though. (Please don’t kill me)
Final Hour is a very creative scenario. For starters it has a great map design filled with eye-candy, an awesome story and some great new aspects too. There are native magical powers, moral failures random strategies, bonuses and narrations. The game also has lots of cool sounds and custom AIs. I also love the people on the water.
The map Design is extraordinary. The use of cliffs, elevation and GAIA objects are fantastic and there is outstanding terrain mixing. There is also a lot of eye-catching eye-candy like the people on the water. The fortress is also very beautiful. It is very realistic and makes you feel like you are actually there.
Final Hour is a great story. It is very fun and exciting. It makes you want to play until the end. Even if you are really struggling you just want to know what happens. The story makes the whole scenario playable and enjoyable. The Instructions are also clear and easy to understand. There is also a Hints page for help too.
Another great scenario and it deserves to be played over and over. Just need to be a little bit easier for some.
