Duke's Adventures DEMO, is not worht the download, unless you have cleaned out almost everything else in the RPG category.
Duke's Adventures appears very playable at first, strolling around through a dungeon, kiling various low-level units that get in your way, and receiveing a few armour and attack bonuses. everything goes all well and good until you reach aout th 4/5 point of the scenairo. Then, your enemy resigns, and "You are victorious'. Not exactly the finish I was hoping for.
The balance was good, if a little too hard for those of us without the expansion pack hero-HP-regenerating. However, this is a problem with many scenarios, so it is not much of an issue, and is unavoidable.
Not a very creative scenario, with nothing that hasn't been done before. It had the standard "Find object, kill somone to get object" kind of storyline.
Speaking of storyline, I failed to notice one. There was a distinct lack of any instructions, so I started off with only "Oh, NO! the rocks have blocked off the passageway!" as the first dialogue in the scenario, and the only idea I started out with of what I had to do.
The map design was...wait! There was map design? The map in it's entirety consisted of a lot of walls making various rooms inside a small dungon that took up about 1/4 of the map. There was 1 piece of eye candy, and that was a small patch of shallow water covered in sea rocks, and bordered by the normal land rocks.
The bottom line is:
Not worth getting if you have anything better to do.
