The Khmers were picked for The Conquerors as a civ, but were voted out. Still, I wanted to make a Khmer campaign. This will give you an overview of what my future campaign will be about. Just sit back and watch. It isn't real long, but really worth it. This includes a music clip from The Conquerors. So download it and watch!
The scenario-as-movie options hasn't been done a lot with AOK. There are some cut-scene scenarios in popular campaigns, such as the Nexus, but the amount of labor required to script everything and program it, with the end result being something less entertaining than television, makes it a risky field to go into.
Happily, KingBarbarossa is not afraid to enter these uncharted waters with "Khmer Movie," a quick download to showcase his up-coming campaign. The King is breaking barriers here, and comes up with a decently entertaining dramatic story focusing on perhaps the most under-appreciated empire to be neglected in Ensemble's boardroom. The Khmers are people I know almost nothing about; after watching the movie I got a feeling I perhaps have been missing out on something important.
This isn't as entertaining as a real movie. AOK can't really compete with your VCR. But The King has pulled off a successful showcase, and you'll be looking forward hopefully to the arrival of the real thing.

i really like the khmer movie. I wish they did put the khmer civ in aoe2 The Conquerors, because i really like the khmer empire history and i think it would be really cool if the khmer wonder would be angkor wat in aoe2 The Conquerors
