Playability-3: This scenario was playable but lacked any real depth. The gameplay is simple and so is your objective, which is to destoy A town center on the other side of the map. The idea was quite good and some times slightly enjoyable. The scenario is however too SHORT and there is only 1 objective, and once that objective is complete, you win. I found however building up a force then getting new units and building's as you grew a fairly nice feature. Another thing I disliked was that you had a very small area to build on, meaning the scenario was shorter and lacked some more needed depth.
Balance-4: Rather nicely balalnced and a good challange. But as you grew bigger and had more resources then getting to the town center that you had to destroy was a little easier but still a nice challenge. This was a very well balanced scenario and this was the strongest point of the scenario.
Creativity-3: Nothing revolutionary here, just a fairly simple idea that was fairly enjoyable to play. The only creative part of the scenario was that you had to cross an strip of land in the center, which was guarded by bombard cannons. Also the islands in the sea were rather new to AoK so far.
Map design-3: The map was pleasent to look at and to play on, it had some creative aspects about it and was quite different from other maps I've seen. The land had some nice variety of tree's and some terrain that looked quite nice. The city's however looked to be scruffy and tacky and some of the maps resources were to much. The sea and the islands looked nice and fairly attractive, however there was not much overall detail in the map.
Story/Instructions-2: The opening instructions were short and not very inspiring at all. They were full of "Pointless" infomation and the whole scenario lacked any real story at all, as this is disspointing as this could have been a very sweet scenario. Although instructions were displayed, they often had some grammer or spelling errors. Although the instructions were short and few and far between, they were ok. Maybe if the scenario was more playable and had more longevity, then the instructions would have easily got 3.
Well balanced/Good challenge
Small amount of triggers
Low replay value
Short and breif instructions
Very little if no Challenge
More effort on map and gameplay
More detailed map
More plot and Instructions
More creativity needed (Eye candee, trigger tricks e.t.c)
A nice, playable scenario with great balance and some good creativity but lacking triggers, a story/plot and any real creativity. Download if you have some spare time and want a little mess about.
