The utility is creative and fun, a cinematic staging in an open-air discotheque. In order to synchronise the music with the dance scene, play the scenario on fast speed.
USEFULNESS/NOVELTY: The utility meets well its primary goal to show villagers dancing to some funky tunes, it is very useful and a perfect realization of the dancing theme with the limitations of the editor. In addition, it has great playability, good pace, and a high replay value. I enjoyed this short cinematic. The idea is not new therefore the question is if it is better, different from its predecessors, IMO it is the best realisation of the dancing theme at the blacksmith so far. 5
QUALITY/INSTRUCTIONS: Perfect quality, it is a cinematic with a good use of triggers, giving a realistic touch and great atmosphere of a disco scene with coloured flashing lights. The couples dance, slide with Yogurt's skating trick to the music. The smallest map so far, it just fills your screen but the design is above average and even though desirable, it does not need more to realize the author's objective. The sound file from the Lord of the Realms CD called setup 2 suits well the disco scene and has a funny text. There is no text in the pre-game instruction screen or in game. The author's description reads, "They move around the screen to some funky tunes. Cool! The music is from lord of the realms II. Play it on fast." Good to read on what speed to play, but better would have been to repeat some text in the introduction screen, few people go on the net to read on what speed a scenario plays. On normal speed, the villagers keep on dancing when the music is over, which looks odd. 4
OVERALL: Usefulness 5, Novelty 5, Quality 5, Instructions 3, 'Disco-villagers' receives an overall rating of 4.5
SUGGESTION: You could have mentioned cinematic and that there is no need to touch the mouse in the objectives, repeat, "Play it on fast" in the hints, explain the triggers and give credit to Yogurt for the unload effect and to Ex-T, AoK Punk Team, for the flashing lights, colour changes.
OBSERVATION: I also recommend ID 1958 Dancing!
IN CLOSING: If you need an inspiration for a dance scene, I recommend downloading Disco-villager. You will be amazed, you will have fun and you will smile. What can I say more? You have to see for yourself.
