=== INTRO -

A Scenario about the Celtish Hero Aethelfirth in the struggle of rescue William Wallace from being executed and the almost impossible task to bring back the 3 Relics or the Archbishop from Town of Longshanks to The Old Church...

=== STORY -

You are Aethelfirth.
You have been sent for to help the Villagers and Monks in Town of Relics to rescue William Wallace and the Archbishop from Town of Longshanks and recapture all their Relics, that is the only way to convience the Villagers of Town of Relics that they still can put their trust and faith in The Old Church, otherwise Town of Relics will be a place for raiders and sinners...

=== BACKGROUND - pre-Scenario

Edward Longshanks Army has nearly destroyed the entire Town of Relics, captured William Wallace and the Archbishop and kept them hostiled in Town of Longshanks. Edward Longshanks have built up a well fortified town with a huge defensive Army to help him maintain the established fear amoung the remaining Villagers in the area.
Edward Longshanks have held his promise to the remaining Villagers and Monks in Town of Relics that he will not attack them with his Army as long as he have the three Relics and the Archbishop captured.
Celtish Militia have traded with Edward Longshanks for Gold and raided the area between the two towns ever since the defeat by Edward Longshanks Army.
Edward Longshanks Army forced the remains of William Wallaces Army to leave Town of Relics and they have been hiding ever since...
Aethelfirth has been promised help from Frankish Paladin Reynald de Chatillon but cannot be sure if and when the Franks will arrive...
Edward Longshanks has announced that William Wallace will soon be executed...

=== ADVISES -

This Scenario requires a large amount of tactical skill and strategic knowledge otherwise you most certainly will be defeated...

PAUSE-THINK/CHECK/ACT-PLAY-PAUSE is the way this Scenario is ment to be played because of the time factor and there for it is of no importants how fast you are with the mouse or how good split vision you have instead take your time and read Messages and Comments you get during the Scenario and do a lot of thinking will probably help a lot...

=== UPDATE NOTES - version 1.F 2nd edition fixed 26/2.

Some changes done in Ai and Messages.

For all you pre-27/2 downloaders thanks for your interest and hope you find the current and hopefully the final version 1.F 2nd edition.

And for all of you that have a version there you start with 3000 Gold change to this version.

The review speaks for it self but as you all know it is better to make up your own opinion and I can asure you that there is more into it then just a Random Map.
And I can remind you all that it is hard to complete but it can be done and the more effort you put in the more goodies will come out...

Well, once in a while we get a below average scenario. This is such an example.

The playability is average and frankly, the best aspect of the scenario. It's basically like a random map and as map design, random map standard is a 3.

The balance was extremely poor. The author tried to make his scenario impossible to play, which is a very bad thing to do. He did this by hiding the gold (which is limited, only 3 piles) in a forest with a ton of wolves and putting 20 elite longbowmen and 4 bombard towers behind a wall. With only a woad raider and 0 resources, it is quite frustrating to break through this barrier.

The creativity was below average. The standard "capture the relic" condition and some other really basic stuff are used and that's about it.
The rest is mostly like a random map.

The map design is actually worse than a random map, believe or not. The wide and totally flat path with "moss" in one section, "broken" in another and then regular "road" in the last section is unbelievably unrealistic and deserves this score.

There was no story and the instructions weren't exactly clear (a lot of them and they are not in order). So, I guess this will have to do.

Final Thoughts: I usually say that the scenario designer has a lot of potential and this is no exception. To all of you reading this, remember that scenario designing is 10% talent, 20% skill and 70% effort. Good day.
