Well, this was definitely not a good move... Moving the world cartograph series into single player. It's essence and excellency laid in the fact that it's a multi-player map, so although this is pretty much the same map as the multi-player one, the score is significantly lower.
The playability was exact that of a random map, except that you had to watch out for certain things which did litte to help. The frantic search for a place to set up camp in the multi-player version is removed, so it scored much lower.
The balance was ok, like that of a random map.
The creativity actually wasn't that bad, moving a multi-player map into the single player category. Also, the icebergs and other hazards were pretty innovative. However, it just lacked something that's required for a 5.
The map design was actually good, but it needed more eyecandy in order to be a full five.
Well, since this is a better version of a random map, there was no story. However, the instructions were ample so a score of 3 will be given.
- Good map design
- Plays just like a random map
Final Thoughts: Well, personally I think that making the cartograph series into single-player maps is not a good move. But, this is review is totally objective and don't doubt that. That is all.
