Note: This campaign has a good deal of obscene language, some with sexual conatations. Discretion must be taken when playing this campaign.
This is the AoK-remake of my failed "Mongol Ascendancy" campaign for the Rise of Rome Mongol Ascendancy Campaign Contest. Hopefully, this one shall fare better.
In it, you take the role of the Mongols as they march upon Europe. This campaign is primarily Fixed Force, but with limited Role-Playing Strategy elements.
As this campaign was largely created during the Winter of '99-'00 (though I only submited it now), it is rather old-style, meaning that the latest tricks and eye-candy can not be found here. Nevertheless, I believe that won't effect the general worth of this campaign.
Thank you AI for a very refreshing campaign!! All I can say is everyone should d/l this campaign NOW!!! I only wished it had, had more scenario's. Keep them coming AI this was a truly awesome campaign :) It is intense, thrilling and not just kill them and go, the author really went out of his way to make this campaign a very entertaining thrill for us.

A good scenario. It has a very good storyline, good overall design and it was very well balanced... only a few problems, the text speed was a bit fast, he was right about the obscene content, and it was sometimes hard to follow what was going on at any particular moment. Also, a few bugs that made it hard to follow the in-scenario plot. A very good scenario though.

This campaign was nicely done and the player can tell that Al_Kharn The Great put much effort into this campaign but could of used some improvement in certain areas, such as map design.
The playability was just as good as the balance but could have used some work. It was fun in the 2nd scenario but it got kind of boring in the first scenario because I kept getting lost in the woods. Maybe if the author would have added some more bandits or enemies along the way it would have been more fun.
The balance was fantastic. He could have perhaps had like a monk in an area so he could heal you during your journey or maybe have given you a few more soldiers because there were a couple instances when I had to save before I died. An example would be in the first campaign and right after you have crossed the river on the boat. You continue going straight until you meet a band of soldiers. Well they just kind of sat there while I was fighting off some other soldiers and then I died. This happened twice to me until I did some odd manuvering around them. But other than that I was fine.
Next there is creativity. I could see some creativity in the campaign but just not much of it. He could have been a little more creative with map design for sure and some other areas as well. There's not to much to say about this topic except for try to be a little more original and creative with your campaign.
Map Design, this is what disappointed me the most. It was very plain and wasn't very pleasing to the eye. Perhaps if he would have spent a little more time on map design that could have bumped up his score. Most of it was just some hills, grass, and scattered trees everywhere. You can tell that the author put a little effort into his design but not enough to make this above average.
And lastly there is storyline/instructions. I was pretty impressed with his storyline that and the history that he gave in the begining of the scenario. He gave a very thorough background of his campaign and the history that goes behind it. But what disappointed me here was his intructions. There were times that I couldn't clearly understand my mission. For instance, in the first scenario, I lost all concept of my mission and what I was supposed to do! I figured it out after playing it a few times but I feel the author could've helped me along a bit better.
Overall the campaign was very good but still could be improved. The overall score I gave him was a 4.0. This campaign should be downloaded and all of you should be playing this campaign because it is a good campaign and I enjoyed reviewing it as I did playing it.

Haven't played it yet but I want to ask you; do you want to make the campaign so that the Huns will be played by the Huns? Just a thought. :)

Ah... there are no huns in this campaign... it's about the mongols invading europe just as the huns had done. sorry
(PS- Play this campaign)
