This is my first scenario so go easy. ok?
The scenario is a FF with a B&D element. You play Robin Hood and your villager works to tribute to the poor.
PLAYABILITY: You start with Robin Hood, a light cavalry, two Militias, a mill, a house and a field, but you don’t need to produce food. The first quest gives you a villager and enough wood to mine and tribute gold to the poor, which is the only relation the scenario, has to the historical figure of Robin Hood and the legend. That’s about it, you wait until 500 gold is mined, attack tower or castle to lure the enemy units out of their walls and they come one by one. To pass the time you could free four civilians in the north, which you don’t need either. 2
BALANCE: The enemy attacks with six Militias and a camel rider, but the knight never attacks. Your enemy gives always up when the fifth militia is killed, before you destroy the castle. 1
CREATIVITY: The best part of the scenario shows some good triggers, entertaining sounds, a strange avi and an unusual, creative starting position, which was not explored further. You could actually build up with the 100 wood and five villagers. The only stone mines are around the enemy castle, one out of reach, which you need for a town centre. It could have been great with some more enemies. 3
MAP DESIGN: The map is flat grass one with some square walls and buildings. The trees concentrated around one path, a river and marlins in a lake. The only terrain mix consists of flowers with forage bushes and deer in one area of the map. 1
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: The introduction screen shows a castle with the pointer as a BMP. You need no hints and you have two objectives. Apart from the information that there are trade roads for the rich guys, wonder who keeps the poor off the road, there is no story and the objectives/hints are quite confusing. You are told that the freed villagers are useful, what for? Further that your mill should not be destroyed, being your only source of food. No food is needed to win. 2
OVERALL: Good unexplored creativity.
IN CLOSING: I recommend downloading the scenario for the ideas of the author.
