This is the second installment of the New World Conquest series. I greatly improved on my style than in the previous versions. In this campaign, you are an explorer sent by the French king to explore the New World. You will face the treacheries of nature, native raids, and battles with rival countries. Download this campaign, it's worth it!
(I would appreciate you leaving a comment, positive or constructive, on how i could improve my campaign.)
This campaign, NWC (French), is a lot better than the British one. The reasons are detailed below.
Playability hasn't improved much in this campaign, but improvements are present. You are no longer limited to gunpowder units and not all the scenarios are B&D. Also, all the scenarios are winnable, except for a bug in the third scenario that ensures that you get stuck.
The balance is also better (I played the campaign with TC, which actually makes the scenarios easier), all the scenarios are difficult and took an average 25 minutes to play, which isn't half bad. But in the second scenario, it's too easy since the 'maze' had no units in it, so basically you walk around for 20 minutes. Other than that, it's all good.
Creativity has been improved. There were some sidequests, and the objectives are a lot better. However, the effort is only satisfactory, not excellent.
The map design is better than his previous work, since all the maps work, look good, and are original. But the author could put more effort into map design.
The story and instructions is once again the best aspect of the campaign. The storyline is very good and colorful, all the scenarios contain good instructions.
Good story and instructions
Lack of playtesting
Still needs more creativity
Final comments: After I played the British version, I am very disappointed at the author. This campaign changed my mind, though. It's well balanced and interesting and definitely worth the download.
