"The Great Invasion of the Aztecs" is a scenario strangely based around the invasion of the Aztecs by the Mayans. You take control of a character called Tineigon.

Playability: The playability of this scenario is a little weak. I think this is due to the lack of variety other than the fighting. The small invasion of the Mayans once you leave the first town adds a breath of fresh air to a otherwise repitive scenario.

Balance: The balance was challenging, but this was due to the few units you are given in comparison to the three enemy garrison's you have to destroy in game. This proves hard and every time you loose some units you feel anger towards the lack of units of which your in control.

Creativity: The small invasion scene was the most creative feature of this author's work. To improve the creativity the author could add more interesting features to diversify, perhaps optional objectives of rescueing captured warriors or creating a diversion to draw out enemy men.

Map Design: The map design seemed a little odd, initially I thought it was based upon a random map. As you delve further and further into the Invasion of the Aztec's you discover the trees are put in slodges on the map. They aren't huge clumps, but they do seem a little odd here. I'll award an average mark, I feel i'm being a little leniant here but it was an interesting idea.

Story/Instructions: The story was very weak at the introduction screen, with a severe lack of instructions, history of hints sections and the lack of a bitmap didn't show too much promise. Luckily, the story picked up a little better in game with more dialogue to inform you of what was occuring, and what you had to do about it. The instructions were timed well and I didn't feel they went by too quickly. Story wise, the scenario didn't explain why the Mayans were attacking, which I feel would be a major improvement if the author was to update his work.

Overall: The opening screen doesn't look too promising, and in game its a real challenge. I can't really recommend it as it is other than to suggest the author takes more time on his work before releasing it, shows potential but the introduction screen would put many players off continuing further.
