Dracula: Son of the Dragon

Author File Description
Jeff Laine
File Details
Version: The Conquerors 1.0c
Style: Mix
Step into history with the immortal Count Dracula, whose evil exploits chill readers even today. Tales of his cruelty are legendary, but what of the other aspects of his life? Some in Romania consider the man a patriot and hero for banishing the Turks from Wallachia in the 15th century.

This scenario will allow you to play the Dark Prince, in all his evil. Will you be a benevolent lord and lead your people to victory against the Turks, or will you use cruelty and inhuman sadism to bend others to your will?

Contains cool avi clips of Dracula in action. Note: This scenario has not been fully play-tested. Please report any bugs or improvement ideas to me.

“Dracula: Son of the Dragon” is a campaign based around Vlad Tepes or more commonly known Dracula. Set around Wallachia in the 1400’s.

Playability: The playability was fun because of the options. You could choose to fight whomever you wanted to achieve your objectives and scaring the Turks from your home by untold destruction was great! The only thing stopping this getting a higher score was it took a lot of effort to achieve 500 kills altogether.

Balance: The balance was average, it including a lot of massacres against villagers but made up for this later when having to fight strong Turkish attacks. The balance was hard to use in a campaign where there was a purpose to easily killing so many villagers, which gives it an average score.

Creativity: The creativity was excellent and one of the best parts of this campaign. The burning castle and watching the birds fly away was great at the start, just as you can imagine with crows near Draculas Castle! It featured a golden cup, trying to scare away the Turks with tales of merciless killings; the ability to fight whomever you disliked. Excellent along with the cut-scenes, ragged man and Draculas wife (which I won’t spoil ).

Map Design: The map design was another above average part of Dracula: Son of the Dragon, the mountains with cliffs and the varying terrain from grasslands to desert was good. The terrain was changing from place to place, which kept you smiling as you played across a good-looking map.

Story/Instructions: The story was good, although the opening lacked a bitmap although there was a picture included in the zip file, which was strange. The cut-scenes were great and really helped the story to progress as you played. The story is good because it has many a twist from the legendary Dracula we have been brought up on.

Overall: This is a very good campaign, Playing the bad guy has never been so much fun!
Alexius Comnenus Altough this has nothing to do with scenario itself i want to mention that-altough I am not a Wallachian-the cruel indeed methods Vlad Tepes(Dracul) used ,learned them while a captive of Murat the II at Andrianople and was a common practice for every king at Europe(France,England). The legend of dracul as a vampire was promoted by Saxon and German traders that their special place as the greatest traders in Moldovia and Wallachia was disrupted by Vlad that helped the local trade to relive. The fact is that it should be a hero of the northern Balkans as he stopped the Turks although for a while depriving them a major part of its army.Anyway just a bunch of historical facts. But the scenario is cool!keep up the good work!
Ian Gilbert Downloading Now! : O
Ian Gilbert Not as great as I was hoping for it to be. You can have the chats and messages be a color by starting them with . For example u could use Aethefirth: Does anybody want some haggus? and it would display the "Aethefirth: Does anybody want some haggus?" part as being blue ;) I hope to see more of your campaigns in the future. Right now I have a lovely soundtack, a cool scen. background, but no idea for a scenario. I am about to tear my brains out looking for an idea.
Ian Gilbert umm it didn't show up sry
