-The Civil War
-by HIGH EMPEROR

This scenario stars two Riders who are gathering an army to fight a civil war against the Government. It starts out as an RPG but by the end is a fixed force scenario.

Playability: The playability is ok. Except for a few exceptions (such as find gold to give people), you generally just walk around looking for gaia units to join you and then attack the government. I didn't get bored while playing it though, so a 3 here.
My Suggestions: Add some optional objectives/side quests. Also, there is a bug keeping you from moving the Lunatic once you acquire him. Fix that.

Balance: This scenario was very easy, but impossible to win. You acquire so many gaia units you can easily overwhelm the government forces. But winning is impossible, because the government has some galleys sitting in the middle of a river that you have no way of destroying. I have to award a 1 here.
My Suggestions: Delete the government galleys, or give the player some ranged units to destroy them with. That bug hurts this score a lot.

Creativity: This scenario was pretty creative. Things like the evil beggar and the explosives carts helping out the miners kept me entertained pretty well, and were nice uses of triggers. HIGH EMPEROR did a good job of using relatively simple triggers creatively. A 4.
My Suggestions: Some more advanced trigger tricks would help, but the creativity is acceptable how it is.

Map Design:
The map design was not good. The map was all grass 1, forest, and water and the buildings were in straight lines (look at the monasteries). There was no eye-candy whatsoever. This gets a 1.
My Suggestions: Use different terrain and do more elevation altering.

Story/Instructions: The instructions were always clear, and the objectives were updated frequently. The story was not very clear though, and I never was able to figure out just why the civil war was being fought. But I think this still deserves a 4.
My Suggestions: Clarify the story so the player understands what he's doing better.

In Conclusion: Except for the problems with balance and map design, I thought this scenario was pretty good. If the galley bug is fixed and the map is improved this scenario could score much higher.

Good Points:
-Clear instructions
-Good use of simple triggers
-Kept the player interested fairly well
Bad Points:
-Galley bug keeps you from completing scenario
-Map is not well designed
-Story is unclear
