Saracen Adventure is a B&D game in a desert landscape. You have to destroy the Palace (wonder) of the Persian king.
A long buildup. The oasis was a nice setting. I liked the river where there was only one spot to land, but there was the enemy's base... Anyway, some Cannon GAlleons did the job.
Altough the Persians are seemingly in Imp Age, they do not attack you. That's because they are all in walled areas, the only gate in the city was locked. I could have smashed the Palace away real quick with some Trebs. But I wanted to fight them as well, so destroyed their gate. A few Castles near their gate and all Persians were flushed away. You should add a trigger to unlock the gate, as soon my units entered the coastline OR not lock the gate in the first place.
On the northern shore, the enemy had a few towers, sometimes guarded with archers, but all in a palisade-walled area. Thus very easy to take them out.
It didn't seem like the enemy created new units, so it's all a bit disappointing. The fort on the coastline adds an extra point.
Build an army, send it to the enemy and smash their Wonder, nothing more.
Map Design: 3
All plain desert with a palm forest. You start in an oasis, which is nicely done, but some eyecandy would be nice. I missed elevations and the enemey town is rather rectangular. Nothing very spectacular. A cliffed coast is good.
The story was simple, but adequate. A Saracen chief teaches his Persian oppressor a lesson. The instructions were OK. I did not get confused.
