Basically the game is about capturing relics while building a defense. You have to capture 13 of them to win, which is not going to be easy. There are no triggers used in the game, so expect a random type game.
PLAYABILITY: The games beginning pulled the fun aspect of the game down. My civ was set in an area where there were lots of wolves and 7 furious the monkey boys waiting to ambush. My two gates were set a long distance away from my town center, and were set quite a distance apart from each other, causing me to have to divide my army in two sections. Twice I played the game, and each time was attacked early by one civ with lots of monks and trebs.
BALANCE: There are three other civs in the game, and they do not have the wolf and monkey problem.
The one good thing that helped the balance was the diplomacy of every civ was set to enemy, and all had to start in the dark ages. Having to battle the monkeys/wolves, and divide my army to two different locations posed quite a challenge as it caused me to advance my civs technology at a slower pace. My gates were heavily stocked with bombard towers and keeps, which allowed me enough time to eventually build up a half-decent defence. From that point on the game became easy.
CREATIVITY: There was an interesting spot on the map that held a huge stockpile of gold and stone
Along with a bunch of relics, that was heavily guarded by wolves and monkeys. Although showing some creativity, it was an area that was not needed, as the civs were rich in resources. The map was decent, but nothing to promote the creativity aspect of the game.
MAP DESIGN: The map fitted the game objective. There is an array of paths leading in every
Direction, so moving about was easy. There is a potential problem that could have come about with such a design. Villagers are notorious for building around, and plugging passages like those.
STORY/ INSTRUCTION: There is no story, but the instructions are provided along with hints and a scout report.
Note: Although the game was a bit unbalanced , I still enjoyed playing it. If you play the game, remember, the monks are not attacked by wolves or monkeys, so head outAs soon as possible.
