In 378 A.D., the Visigoths under Fridigern were angered by their Eastern Empire hosts, and began to plunder the lands. In response, the Eastern Emperor Valens set up camp at Hadrianopolis (Adrianople) to push the barbarians out. The battle to come would end up costing the Eastern Empire dearly - and set in place the defensive stance of the Byzantines for the next 1100 years...
This scenario follows the Goth uprising against the mighty city of Adrianople. Playability: There were no major bugs in the scenario, but some things like having to kill every last villager/unit to get credit for defeating the enemy, were tedious at times. Otherwise it more or less stuck to normal FF gameplay. Suggestions: Add elements to make it more unique. Award defeat of an enemy if all key buildings are destroyed. Balance: Frankly, the scenario was too easy. You controlled far more troops than the enemy, that combined with having the defensive position made the scenario not much of a challenge. Suggestions: Make the enemy stronger/player weaker Creativity: There was some creativity, such as defending the camp until the cavalry arrived, but most of the scenario was basic FF gameplay. Suggestions: Add unique elements such as rescuing a trapped army. Map Design: The city of Adrianople looked nice, but never appeared in the scenario. The rest of the map was mostly grass, forest, and dirt paths. Suggestions: Mix in different types of dirt and grass to give the terrain a more natural look Story/Instructions: The story was very well developed with a detailed history. The objectives were clear except in one point (after defeating the attacking force) where the player is not told to march on Adrianople. A very strong story, though. Suggestions: Just add that one objective In Conclusion: The Battle of Adrianople was a good scenario, but had some weak points. A new touched-up version could score quite a bit higher.
Adequate playability and creativity
Very basic map
Too easy to win
Felt too much like a basic FF scenario

Nice little game. Thanks. I would have been better to make the Byzantines attack too.
