This is my first shot at scenarios... so bare with me. i just got the hang of the triggers, but im noooo master... yet.

This is a continuation for the aztec campaign. it has one scenario, but more will come. this scenario is fictional, so dont sue me for inaccurate history. send me feedback and ideas for the next scenario:

hey nebody who downloads this! please comment, wether in email, or in a player comment box. i just wanna know what i should improve or add or what i should do for the next part!!
The Conquistador Three things that you should improve. First, get the names of the characters straight. It's Quezacoatl and Cuahutemoc, not whatever that you wrote down. Second, you should emphasis on map design, and make Tenochtitlan look like a real city, rather than a pile of buildings. Third, you should be more creative. The process of building a million buildings and no combat was no good.

Playability:

Wait for Quezalcoaltal; part 1 has to have practically no playability whatsoever. The objectives were clear on what you had to do; it’s just that I had no idea how to go about them. Find a suitable spot for a wonder was on of them. Unfortunately, I spent most of my time wandering around trying to find it, my only comfort all the while were the many houses and people that didn’t speak to you or anything. The triggers were very basic and I got bored very quickly. Then you had to gather enough lumber to build the Wonder, with nothing else going on around you. The only enjoyable part was when I had to face those archers protecting the only trees from where I could get the lumber.

For this reason, I give Playability 2

Balance:

The scenario was way too easy. The archers were not that powerful and I destroyed them easily. Nothing else really happened.

If there were to be some assassins or bandits attacking you or smuggling of carts to gain the resources, then I would have given the scenario a 3 or maybe even a four if I felt generous. As it is, a 1 shall have to do.

Creativity:

There was not much originality in there. The whole find a monk to get information, build a wonder theme has mostly been used and is not that exciting to say the least. There were no sounds, map design poor and the triggers were not that great either. For Creativity, I give a very generous 2.

Map Design:

I have to honestly say, the author would have been better off making an “Island” random map and then changing it from there. The map wasn’t atrocious, but it wasn’t as good as a Random Map either. The rules state that a 2 should be given for circumstances like this.

Story/Instructions:

There was no story, no history (apart from saying “This scenario leads off from the Montezuma campaign”). There were hints and Instructions telling you what to do. If the history was better and there was a story line, I might have granted it a four. But a 3 shall have to do. Though this is a bit generous in my judgment.

Final Thoughts:

This is an OK campaign to download if you want one that you can finish in a hurry. If the Author puts more effort into the map, story, makes it harder and more exciting; I’m sure it would eventually become very good. But for now, avoid until that is done.
Extli_Quani The names are Quetzalcóatl and Cuauhtemoc.... just for you to know...
