You start out with only one unit - A champion. You make your way a little way further through the game and meet up with more units, and begin the game proper. You capture a relic, destroy a monastery, and build the odd one of your own too.
Gameplay is rather barebones, Triggers are minimal, the map is pretty basic, but I am particularly proud of Dumnonia (a city in the game). The story is very short, and quite easy, but don't forget that this is my first submission, and I am testing what I can do as a beginner.
A little about the scenerio. Basically this scenerio's about a champion who is merlin's lackey. For some reason he's sitting around in the city deciding what to do and ends up wanting to go see merlin. After getting ambushed outside the city, you must break through an outpost. Thereafter you go to see merlin. Get a relic bring it back to where merlin was and then the games over.
Playabilty:The playability was alright. You ran around and helped out merlin once. And that was about it. A few enemies attacked here and there. Of course this being his first scenerio it's understandable that the playability wouldn't be awesome but it was fairely good all facts considered. 3
Balance:This seemed to be a hard area of the design for the designer. The first fight was barely a fight at all. A couple dark age pikemen against a champion. Kinda unfair to the pikemen. There no really hard parts in this scenerio. Everything was pretty easy but as i've said before with all things considered I give it a 3.
Creativity: I liked the basic idea of the scenerio, but it wasn't exploited to the extent that it could've been. Helping merlin was a good idea, using the name merlin on the other hand a little unoriginal. But he did name the realms so that was really a plus there. Another 3.
Map design: Here was a bump in the road. He used mostely grass1 and oak trees. There were a few mountains and trails which kept this mark from being a one. The city was interesting also everyone in the city was moving around. There are tons of people in the city all moving so it creates a kind of bustleing city affect. 2
Story/instructions: Here was a lacking area also. Simple story, and unclear instructions. They were there it's just they were hard to keep track of. I liked the concept of the story though like i said the idea of helping a wizard is awesome. I give this a 2.
Comments: This scenerio is a good starting scenerio for the designer but when he becomes more comfortable with the editor then he could maybe redo this scenerio with alot more missions and maybe change the name of merlin to Abraham or Roberto or something different. Also i'd suggest looking in the tsuniversity to see about some eyecandy articles. I recomend this scenerio to rookie players because a new player may get a litttle lost.
