4 scenarios included into the campaign were all random map build and destroy, with some extra starting troops and Belisarius hero unit. I have played better random maps. Probably the best was the first scenario, but the Gaia siege units in the north of the map ruined everything. Only one of the scenarios had multiple wining options but again, created poorly.
Balance was poor. Player usually started with an army (it was the SAME in 3 out of 4 scenarios) and somewhere on the random map there was a Gaia town waiting for him. Player could easily defeat his opponents every time.
Author tried to create a story about a famous byzantine general Belisarius, but failed to follow his actual story. Scenarios offer nothing creative, with random maps and some Gaia units scattered over it. Even the player's starting army was the same in most of them.
Map Design: 2
No author's map design, rated 2 for the random map usage, as stated in the Exchequer. Some extra Gaia units change nothing.
The author had some basic idea about the plot. Trying to create a story about Belisarius, ha rather made up entire thing, and tried to cover it in some fancy dates inside history section. All instructions were poorly written, hints and scouts usually empty. Every scenario finished with a sentence: Byzantines will always prevail.
Additional Comments: In order to improve this creation, map design and some written story should be done first.
