In this Scenario, you have to inspire your people & collect all the Holy Relics. Both Islands are closed off with a curtain of bombard towers, also, cannon galleons have been disabled, as not to make this simple...there is also a Holy Isle, which you have to find the way onto, and a Middle Isle you can take and harvest it's resources.
Please review this, as it is my first Scenario I have submitted here...I'd like to know what you think.
You asked for a review, so you now have one. The holy isle is a build & destroy type of scenerio. It takes a concept such as capturing relics and puts a large boundary between you and you're objective. When I first started playing this scenerio i though," This'll be easy." About half way through I noticed that this was no easy task to collect the relics. The bombards and holy rituals that must be passed add a nice bit of spice to the scenerio and should satisfy the fans of the genre of scenerio.
Playability- The playabilty of this scenerio from a designer's angle may not be the most stupendous piece of work but does contain interesting ideas to keep the game progressing and to change things up a bit. You can adjust the levels of play before you actually start the scenerio. Not in game but from the standard aok settings. I wasn't bored throughtout the scenerio so I gave playability a 3.
Balance- He gave the enemy the same amount of men as he gave the human player. Same rescources, about the same land area, same amount of cannons, same everything. So the game was fairely well balanced. Gave it a 4.
Creativity- The basic idea of a curtain of Bombard towers blocking you from you're enemy and the idea of a holy island and having to find a way onto it were good concepts and I think they were executed fairely well in this scenerio. Gave it a 3.
Map Design- As a reviewer personally it's all the small things in a scenerio that ammount to a good review score. In this scenerio there was a ton of little things that amounted to this score. The sand beaches, the holy isle, the center island, and the use of the random map all intrigued my curiousity into what the author intended everything to eventually look like. It caused me to use my imagination to figure out what everything was meant to be. Ex. He placed a shipwreck and a bunch of skeletons around one of the towers. At first I never noticed it but as i progressed and saw the rest of the map I started to see alot of smaller more discreet eye candy. Good for a 4.
Story and Instructions- Story was a weak point in this scenerio. The story didn't have alot to it but what it lacked in story it made up in the other four catagories. The instructions were kinda blah but didn't leave me too much in the dark. Good for a 4.
Suggestions- Plan a story around the map. Maybe check out some articles or look into some of the better scenerios around aokh and maybe see what others have done both storywise and map wise. And maybe try making a custom map instead of a random map. Customs maps allways look so much better and really give the designer a bigger field to romp in if you know what i'm saying. But all and all, for a first scenerio, good work and good luck with future designs.

It's a style of game only for those who like to build and conqueror. Your base is safely guarded by BTs, as well as the ones by your enemy. You start out with decent resources, and you start out from nothing except a town center >:(. Instructions are good enough, but the story is not that interesting in my opinion. Creative, though ^^.
