Long ago, a paranoid king locked his people in garrisons, never letting them see the bounty of their valley but through the slits of murder holes. When the king finally died, still hidden in one of his many walled towns, the people swore never again to build garrisons in the valley. To this day, no leader has been able to force the common folk to break this vow. Regardless of the cruelty of the taskmaster or the sweetness of the bribe, timbers are left to rot in the rain and mortar turns into mud.<p> No towers, castles, or town centres may be built in the valley in the center of the map.
