Tamerlane, Prince of Destruction - TC Edition

Author File Description
Mark Stoker
File Details
Version: The Conquerors 1.0c
Style: Mix
Number of scenarios: 7
This version of "Tamerlane, Prince of Destruction" requires the Conquerors expansion pack. If you do not own the expansion pack, please download the standard AoK version.

"Tamerlane moved like a whirlwind through Asia, commanding both fear and awe throughout the world. Rising to power in 1369 on the ruins of the Mongol Empire, his great armies criss-crossed Asia from Delhi to Moscow, conquering and re-conquering, razing some cities, sparing others. His activity was relentless and unending. His fame spread quickly to Europe, where he remained for centuries a figure of romance and horror."

"Tamerlane, Prince of Destruction" is a seven-scenario campaign about Tamerlane, the last of the great nomad conquerors. In this campaign you must lead Tamerlane as he rises from the chief of a small Mongol tribe to the conqueror of the Middle East.

FEATURES:
- Six playable scenarios
- One cut-scene scenario
- Seven soundtracks
- Fun yet historically accurate gameplay
- Battle scenes that don't lag
- Supports all difficulty levels
- Game style is a combination of role-playing, fixed-force, and build-and-destroy.

This campaign also includes an 8.3Mb Music Pack (This is the same music pack that is used in the AoK version of this campaign. If you have already downloaded it, you do not need to download it again). It is not required, but please download it if you have a fast connection. This campaign includes music from the following albums:

"Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears
"BraveHeart" soundtrack
"Caravan" by Kronos Quartet
"The Edge" by Gnomusy
"Gladiator" soundtrack
"Music of the Crusades" by The Early Music Consort of London

This music is for sampling use only. Please do not copy it or circulate it among your friends. If you really like the music, go out and buy the CDs. All of these CDs are great, except maybe one of them ;-)

The game engine remembers every scenario, campaign, saved game you played under a player name. When the next scenario does not load, the memory is full.

From Single Player click 'Options' and select a new player name. The next scenario will load.
AOKwarrior I just finished watching the prologue-good job!- and im starting level 2 now... i think if its from the same quality its way better than most campaign's .
Michael1 I downloaded this campaign and it is amazing! The first level/prologue is really good. I look forward to anymore campaigns that you make.

OMG! How do you make a campaign this good?!
Alex Coles kronos_almighty,

Your review doesn't explain much. It's pretty much just one line for each part of your analysis. try putting detail in to it.

This has to be the one of the most brilliant campaigns ever made. I can't believe I didn't play it for such a long time (probably because I was disappointed by the first 2 scens. of the Aok one). Great playability with mixed FF & B&D, cool music, good storyline. The creativity is unbelievable, really, Britney Spears? Oh my.

It's a fairly good (as far as Aok goes) story on the life of Timur the lame. Although scenarios don't need to be historically accurate, I didn't like that Tamerlane was mostly presented as a 'good guy'. The huge numbers of mass murders , pillage and massacres perpetrated during the reign of the 'Prince of destruction' aren't properly mentioned. Likewise Timur's role as a ghazi warrior of Islam and jihad as a motivation are similarly downplayed.
Ping I loved this campaign, definitly the best AoK campaign. Have you guys considered making a campaign about Timur's descendants and how they ruled india?
maccomo WOW

No you cannot, the author answered the question in the Read Me,
"This music is for sampling use only. Please do not copy it or circulate it among your friends. If you really like the music, go out and buy the CDs. All of these CDs are great, except maybe one of them ;-)"

The solution is to trigger the music and inform the player that more music plays for those that have Tamerlane on their computer. Like this you did not copy nor circulate the music.
LongBowHurtsBad I had so much fun playing this scenario I stayed up until 12 playing this game. The unique thing is you don't play as Tamerlane half the time and it creates a humorous and innovating game play.

Wow, just wow! The balance with every difficulty is amazing; thanks to the skill of the designers, they have used triggers to make this fun at any skill level for all people.

I'm sorry for this, but I have seen Tamerlane has been done many times. Do not get me wrong here this is one of the best campaigns out there.

I actually felt like I was at the places as pictured in the campaign. The skilful abilities of the design team are incredible.

All instructions were clear and able to follow. The story was very historically accurate (mostly).

This game you must download this second!
