RETURN OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE (DEMO)

Background:

“Return of the Roman Empire” is an eleven-scenario campaign about the Byzantine Empire and its return to power following its great victory at the Siege of Constantinople. In this campaign you must lead the Byzantine Emperor (Constantine XI Palaeologus) as he defends the city from the powerful Ottoman Empire, reconquers the empires lands, and wages war against the treacherous Crusaders and the Pope to become the greatest leader in the history of the world. Note: This campaign is not based on actual historical events, except for the siege scenario, but could have happened if certain, small historical events had changed.

Features: (DEMO)

- Two playable scenarios
- One cut-scene / role playing scenario
- One battle tutorial scenario
- Thirteen sound files (73 FULL VERSION), seven music sound files
- Geographically accurate maps
- All new “ Choice ” and “ Test Your Luck ” System
- Supports all difficulty levels
- Game style is a combination of role-playing, fixed-force, and build-and-destroy.
- Advanced AI Scripts

MUSIC

This demo campaign also includes a 5.58Mb Music Pack. It is not required, but please download it if you have a fast connection. I highly recommend it. Even for people who don’t have one. This campaign includes music from the following albums and games:

· Strength and Honour "Gladiator" soundtrack
· The Might of Rome "Gladiator" soundtrack
· Battle 1,2,3,4 & 5 “Lords of the Realm II” strategy game
· Duel Of The Fates “Stars Wars Episode I” soundtrack

This music is for this campaign only. Please do not copy it or circulate it among your friends without my permission. If you like the music, buy the cd’s. They will have much better quality than these anyway.

Harbinger WOW!!! This campaign has to be one of the best I've seen. The map design, creativity... all of it is just so good. One of the best. Could be the best eventually.

Can't wait for the full version Emperor.
Gibbo07 I borrowed my friends TC CD and just finished it. It was hard but not too hard. Great campaign!!!
Sparhawk104 Great campaign!

But I couldn't finish it because when I brought a unit to Kushluk in the second scenario the game crashes.

Please fix this.

All the scenarios have been tested many times by many other people and no problems have arrisen. I myself have just tried it now. It works perfectly fine.

My guess is that your computer doesn't have enough memory when the change of ownership happens. I will check it up for you.

Thanks for playing the campaign anyway. I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.
The Conquistador I only played the first scenario of this campaign, "Siege of New Rome - Constantinople" and reviewed it. It's one of the more less enjoyable scenarios I have ever played.

Stan,

Did you actually play the game out to the bitter end? Did you get the Genoese's reinforcemnets? or did the Turks break through the harbours gates thanks to the transport ships and attack the Haghia Sophia? Did you except the Imperial Advisors advice, as I said most should to get the most fun out of the game? Did you try attack from the rear? Loot enemy Anatolian castles to gain gold? Choose to help an accused "thief" or not? Try to gain Tekirdags men? etc.

There are others, but I am assuming you didn't do any of these because of the lag. I will try my best to sort this out for players, although no-one has complained of lag except you. Please don't be offended if I have done so. The Blacksmith needs strict reveiwers and I will take your review seriously and try to sort the siege scenarios lag out.

Also, go out and attack, it will make the scenario more fun killing enemies with your Cataphracts then retreating to get healed.

Danish Viking I think its unfair that you only played one scn of this campaign and then reveiwed it. I must say it one of the best campaigns ever, good work Emperor!

Danish Viking
The Conquistador I believe I will review this campaign (as well as the finished version) and I hope (based on the comments, I probably won't be disappointed) that this is not as disappointing as your scenario.
