2 player multi, just an army, no town or villagers, both armies consist of 6x15 man regiments of elite Janissaries, 4 bombards, 16 cavaliers, and 4 monks and wolves, accompanied by a few scout cavalry. Player wins by killing each enemy unit. The map is huge and all land with forests, stone, a little water, and hills sprinkled about for strategic fun. It's really bloody, and doesn't last very long. Just remember to hold the line!
I like this map and the style that it has pioneered. If you can keep tight control of your groups, the gameplay is very much like a Civil War fight, with loud cannon blasts and rifle fire! Plus the scouts make it fun to maneauver around the map and fake out your opponent.
After playing the map, I immediately made a similar one with only arrow based archers instead of Jannisseries or Hand Cannoneers.
An excellent map that focuses on battle formations and positioning, not economy.
