The Battle of Stamford Bridge took place in England in 1066 a few days before the better known Battle of Hastings. As in real life, the scenario involves a race against time as the Saxons, led by King Harold, struggle to cross Stamford Bridge and cut down the unprepared Vikings before the latter can gather together their full force that lies spread out over marshland to the East.
