The boar is back! And this time it is not alone, he brought his friends with him. In Boar-Ball II the host can chose between the classical boar, and five other game options; Wolf, Deer, Sheep, Boar Invasion, or Hooligans; all of which have a different gameplay.

BOAR-BALL II is a scenario in which you are playing on a "soccer field." The only problem is... the ball is an animal. :) To get a goal, you must lure or chase the ball with your respawning team into the opponent's goal.
There are many different options to choose from. You can use a wolf, boar, or deer for a ball, or choose from two other game options: Hooligans and Boar Invasion. In addition, you can choose between mixed teams, or teams in which you get only Throwing Axemen. the only gripe I have is that only two players can play, which takes out some of the fun.
Suggestions: Add multiple player options.
With a symetrical battle... er... soccer field, and both players getting same units, etc, the balance is perfect.
There have been no others like it before it was made. In fact, if anything, I have seen a few scenarios that tried to copy this one, and did a poor job.

The arena was nicely done. The author included a nice tunnel that the players come out of, and the arena showed lines, just like a real field. A "referee" might have been nice to have, but IMO he would have just gotten in the way of the players. In addition, an extra computer player tends to lag.
Overall, the scenario is very nicely done. I suggest you download it.
Boar-Ball II is a novel scenario, which attempts to re-create association football in Age of Empires II. It offers a variety of game modes and offers a unique take on boar luring. However, as only two players are involved in the game, it becomes repetitive and essentially a novelty. While entertaing and amusing, it quickly loses its charm.
Both players have symmetric teams in all game modes.
There are a half-dozen game modes, which greatly alter the style of gameplay. Some are more entertaining than others, but the players are stuck with one game mode for the duration of play. This could be altered and would improve the playability.

The "pitch" is very well designed, but the aesthetic design of the "stands" leaves something to be desired. In general, it is elegant and clean, and functionally excellent.
Although the instructions are minimal, the game is simple enough to not warrant a great deal of explanation. An amusing interlude between goals scored adds a welcome break to gameplay, and gives the otherwise bland setting some character.
