monkmaze racing fix2 is a multiplayer scenario that puts 4 players against each other in a race to see who can make their monk reach the end first.
A nice scenario, although for those with the expansion pack, this scenario is unwinnable. Heros block your paths, and only in the original AoK can they be converted. The success at the end is based upon the survival of a solitary Saboteur which a lucky player gets near the beginning. If it does not reach the end, the final wall cannot be taken down and there is no way to pass.
Suggestions: Remove the wall at the end. You should consider removing the heros and replacing them with other units so those with the expansion pack can play it too.
Perfect balance, I guess. Maybe one player has a tile shorter distance than the others, but it doesn't really matter.
This idea has been used before. I like the idea of quicksand and checkpoints though.
Suggestions: Instead of just putting units in the way to convert, how about more puzzles? Moving barriers, crushing rocks, etc. could all help this grade.
Map Design: 2
The path is a zigzag across the map. In a multiplayer map, eye candy is not always needed, but steps can be taken for a visually appealing map. There was some terrain mixing, but only in one spot.
Suggestions: A meandering path might be nice, as well as more terrain mixing. Not too many GAIA objects, however, or the map will lag.
So so. At least all the features were mentioned, as well as hints given to avoiding them. However, the text badly needed to be spell checked, killing all chances of a higher grade.
Overall, this scenario needs editing badly, but has great potential if used right. If you have the Conquerors expansion pack, this scenario is unplayable, but for original AoK owners, it might be a nice scenario to try.
