This section was extremely damaged by the author's choosing of the scenario hero: Villager with great buffs. There was trigger system provided that would ensure these buffs to stay every time player accidentally tasked hero for a villager task. Simple fix would be choosing other unit for the hero (militia, for example), while there could also be a trigger system created to modify villager's buffs. Probably the best system like this is in The Successor part 3 by panel. Ability was for the player to play without buffs, but it was impossible. 1
Balance suffered from the villager unit too. Maintaining the buffs was extremely hard for the player, while without them every fight turned into a nightmare. With the buffs the game was a proper challenge. 3
Author could use a trigger system to show his technical skills here. Otherwise a not very creative story or gameplay at all. 2+
Map Design: 2
Map design was OK in most places with some terrain mixing and elevation used, but all the forests, either bamboo or oak were just squares of terrain tool used. Some cliffs used cannot change the rating very much. 2
There was a very short introduction in the story, but most of it remained unexplained. Instructions were not detailed enough to explain what the player should do. No history section or scout section.
Additional Comments: Even a giant snow sign "Creation is bad mkay?" cannot change the rating. If it is bad, fix it in the first place. To improve map design use more elevation and less squared forests, incorporate more story and change the main hero unit/provide efficient trigger system. Until then I suggest everyone to play something else form the Blacksmith.
