This is the non-cheating computer AI for Deathmatch! Currently supported civs are Aztecs, Britons, Celts, Franks, Mongols, Persians, Saracens, and Turks. This AI should be able to beat most other non-cheating AIs. Most players up to the intermediate level of DM should find this AI a challenge, or to have fun without having to go to the Zone.
This AI's author obviously has quite a bit of experience in AI writing, and this AI is on the right foot, but it is weak in almost every aspect.
Ultimate DM AI supports almost all civs except Byzantines...which is weird since they are actually a pretty good Death Match civilization. The AI supports all ages, but I think that support for Imperial-only starts should have been improved, since that is the way most people play DM. As it stands, Ultimate DM AI doesn't expand outwards until very late in the game, so the human player can claim gold and stone mines unopposed. Also, it farms too late and will often burn through its initial supplies of food before it starts farming intensively.
Unit balance has gone out the window. When playing as Celts, Ultimate DM AI makes over 20 trebuchets but has hardly any melee to defend them. As Turks, it pumps out large numbers of janissaries, but if you make humble skirmishers it is completely helpless. It tries to adapt (by creating halberdiers if you're playing as Franks, for instance), but once you figure out its playing pattern, beating it is very, very easy.
It is remarkably passive, attacking very infrequently and preferring to defend. Since it doesn't attack, the human player has plenty of time to build up an overwhelming army. When attacking, it tends to trickle units in rather than attacking in one big wave. In the games I played with it, I was able to win in under twenty minutes each time. It does not counter properly, and wastes resources extravagantly -- on things such as guard towers and sanctity, for instance, neither of which are needed in post-imperial DM.
Some allowances should be made because this is possibly the first DM AI ever uploaded to the blacksmith. This should be the ticked for inexperienced players, but it is quite weak otherwise.
