This AI builds villagers only and tributes to its ally constantly. Great for practicing sling-shot.
- Standard random map game
- Dark age start, standard resources
- All maps except nomad
- All civs
- Population 75 to 200
- Standard or conquest victory
Tributary will not change diplomatic stance so locked team option is necessary. It will communicate with other players a lot. It responds to all taunts that can be responded by default AI. Try talking to it using taunts when there's nothing going on in the game.
Tributary does use infomation cheats to help allies. However, it will never use resource cheat. It might warn allies frequently about enemy military threat. If you don't like this or don't want to be nagged, this feature can be easily disabled by removing the first line (of script) in the main personality file. All cheats are in a separate file. Tributary will be much quieter then.
I am a beginner on AI scripting so Tributary is not perfect. (I can't get it to work on nomad.) Give it a try and tell me what you think about it. Suggestions, comments and constructive criticism are all welcome.
It should work for multiplayer games. I don't see why it shouldn't. Just make sure you delete the first line in the script so it won't cheat, unless your opponent uses a cheating Tributary ally as well.
I am not too sure which ally it will choose to tribute to when there are more than one human allies. Probably the player with the lowest number.

Thanks for your answer. However, when I create a multiplayers game, I can only choose 'Computer', 'Open' or 'Close' in the Name column. Dose I use a wrong way or my AOK installation has problem?
Thanks you very much...

Custom AIs are intended for single-player games and custom campaigns. I don't know anybody who actually made an AI for multiplayer games. It's possible that ES doesn't allow that at all.
Sorry I didn't answer your question earlier. I was on vacation. Plus I don't know the answer. I don't play much multi-player game. Why don't you post your question in the forum? Not many people look at the comments here.

Too Bad. Custom AI scrpits can NOT, and I reapeat, NOT be used in multiplayer games. (though I sure wish they could.)

Accept my congratulations, sir. This was THE best AI file I've ever seen. Although it doesn't try to win the game by itself, this script is a high quality work: no cheats on gathering resources, interaction with human players, etc. Definitly, a MUST HAVE ai file.

Simply create a multiplayer map in the scenario editor and make one of the players an AI and make it this AI. You then run that custom scenario and it should work. Make sure it's just a regular random map.

I wish to let you all know that you can use an AI online. You must use a custom scenario with the AI used as one of the players in the scenario. BTW I will be posting a review later on hopefully today if I get a chance bcuz I test a lot of AI's but nvr get to do a lot of reviewing. (My computer is like an ancient being) If you ask me, it is a glitch in the game. Oh and the name will be a random name decided on by the civ. of the AI. (like General Longshanks) Yes I have done this b4 and found that it played like the AI i selected. (I chose Bing and it made a zillion stables, rushed me w/cavalry and well you get the idea)
