Some basic improvements that really make a difference.
Keep in mind that I am a beginner AI programmer. This is currently the best AI for Herofest.
The name of this AI sounds better then it actually is. This AI, a very short one with only 40 defrules, is so lacking in every area that it makes me wonder whether the author playtested it at all. This AI does absolutely nothing, except for training villagers (and then only when it has enough housing headroom). It doesn't build anything, research anything, or even move a single villager. It does make its military units wander around, however. This AI was something of a puzzle to me. What's the point of an AI that does nothing except train villagers and make military units wander around? I suspected it might be a "freeze" AI for keeping villagers and other units still. But this suspicion didn't hold water when I examined the script. There are defrules telling it to build forward castles, train unique units, and some strategic numbers telling it to attack the enemy only when it has 12 or more soldiers to protect it's home base. Clearly, it was meant to DO something. All of those defrules, however, don't seem to work. Herofest doesn't do any of the things the designer claims it does on the description page. This AI is pretty much useless in every regard to both gamers and scenario designers alike.
