“Fight against a Magier-CHAPTER 2” is a campaign based around El Cid and Charlemagne, leaving Guy’s town in aid to help the world against Imam and Imam’s forces.

Playability: - The playability of Fight against a Magier-Chapter 2 is mediocre. There are many different challenges along they way, including removing a somewhat tough blockade of walls and an armed garrison as well as fighting different Imam troops. Towards the end the gameplay does seem a little repetitive, however for the majority this is a fairly tough and enjoyable campaign.

Balance: - The well-balanced aspects of this campaign are undoubtedly its best aspect. Wherever you venture there are tough fights and objectives to be completed. To improve the balance that little more to achieve a higher mark the author could change some of the units used, for example the heavy use of skirmishers several times in the paths through the forest.

Creativity: - The creativity used was quite good. From statues of Monks, and the hawks flying overheard trick to a good use of map copy functions. Also to note was the click talk trick and for more important dialogue and conversations the read as long as you want text. The scene where Merlin and Imam fight by use of magic and casting spells and warrior battles is most likely the best scene in the game.

Map Design: - The map design was another good part to this creation, the forest was well implemented which really made it feel alive with wildlife and nature. Use of the various gaia trees A and upwards was also used well. There is mud sections to the map as well as hills and so forth.

Story/Instructions: - The story is the section that needs the most work, with an introduction screen consisting of no bitmap, a weak History section, 3 words for the Instructions field and a simplistic section on Hints leave the player somewhat in two minds as to whether or not to continue. Thankfully, this improves as you play forward. In game the dialogue contains niggly-spelling mistakes which irritate the player more than stopping them from understanding scenes. The overall concept of Charlemagne and El Cid being “bored” and thus leaving to fight Imam is somewhat weak and could do with further changes if revisited by the creator.

Overall: - A campaign which, is of a well-balanced difficulty with a somewhat weak background story. These are the main characteristics that differentiate Fight against a Magier Chapter 2 from the majority of Blacksmith submissions. If you like tough battles and a beautiful forest of two this may well be worth a look. A note to the author, the ideas and creativity are there but like the map design this needs further development in most sections if you are to progress as a designer.
laz123 Maybe I played a different game, but I didn't get it.
