“Aztec Campaign” is a 5 scenario campaign set in a fictional mesoamerican setting. While it is overall a drag to complete it does have it’s high points.
Playability- With long boring periods and a major bug in the end of the second scenario where it does not allow you to win (you’ll have to cheat) I had to drop the playability to a 2.
Balance- It was overall pretty easy, easier than a normal random map, and almost no challenge during the whole campaign this was not a high point. For those who want a easy B&D then this is what you want, otherwise you may want a more challenging scenario. As it is too easy to oppose any challenge the rating becomes a 2.
Creativity- While there was not any amazing creative features it did have a few interesting objectives and methods to achieve these you usually found yourself into interesting situations that were quite unique. These small creative parts were enough to keep the rating at 3.
Map Design- These maps were nothing more and nothing less than random maps. There was no breathtaking design and while it never was bad, it just didn’t live up to the potential. Overall don’t download this scenario for it’s map deisgn. The rating is a 3.
Story/Instructions- This campaign featured a story with little details but with believable changes. The instructions were clear and the hints useful. But even though there was a story and good instructions the story was uninteresting so the rating of 3 was given.
+ Clear instructions.
+/- Quite an extensive campaign.
- Major bug in the second scenario.
- A bit too easy and lacks the challenge of better campaigns.
Overall: This is a series of random maps with custom objectives and with a storyline. Some may consider it worth the download while others may not.
