CapriciousV1,5 is based on the first new random map released by Ensemble Studios. Featuring the concept of "random resources" - the amount of gold, stone and food changes from game to game - this map introduces some challenging unpredictability to AOK gameplay.
As a real landmap with no water around, this map looks just like a green arabia map (with maybe less annoying elevations).
Most players will probably soon feel "at home", since the settings (pattern of resource placement, "wolf behaviour", etc.) are like on other well known "mainstream" maps.
The one noticable feature of CapriciousV1,5 actually is the notion of "random resources".
While there is always enough wood, after starting a new game you simply don't know if the level of food, gold or stone is high, normal or low until you scout a little. The map is "fair" - every player gets the same amount of each resource and it's guaranteed that not more than one resource is at a low level.
Just like on other competitive maps, there is some neutral gold, stone and food scattered around the map.
