Author File Description

File Details
Version: The Conquerors
Style: Build and Destroy
The Greek Island had for centuries before the Dark age been the seat of power. Vast temples and roads ways ran from one end to the other. By tide as time changes and much of the islands has fallen into the sea. Still what remains is a good spot for a kingdom of power. Now you must race to control the land and sea of this old island Kingdom. Who will rule Aegean?

Aegean is new type of island map with massive roads. No one is completely safe from sea attack. The key is to control both sea and land. Do you have the talent to capture the island?

This map has some potential, but it needs more work.

Theme: 3 The theme is definitely new and unique, but it isn't executed very well. The island doesn't look too much like it's sinking/flooding, and the rainforest makes it seem more like a tropical map than a greek one.

Visual Appleal: 2 There are some interesting terrain blends (water near palm trees and grass looked sort of good), but the extensive road terrain and huge deep-water lake in the center doesn't look good. Also, there is no water blending, so all the water is shallow except the cnetral lake. While some rocks and trees were used to make it look better, that wasn't enough. The author could've added dirt terrain, palm trees (not jungle) and ruins to make this look more like an Aegean island.

Playability: 3 There are interesting situations due to the narrow roads on this map. It could be a very interesting and fun map. You need to control both sea and land. However, I took off points here because of the resource placement, which seems to put no stone on the map. Some more playtesting and tweaking of resources could've given a higher score.
