This new rms uses the Sea Tower discovered by Raymond Tukkers in his exploration of the construction numbers feature of custom random map creation. These towers are placed in water, have Blacksmith-upgradable attack like other towers, but have only 500 hit points.
This script features player islands ringed by sea towers, with fairly basic starting resources. However, additional resources are located on one or more extra islands. Fishing is good. Battles on land or sea can occur in any age after Dark, but it is somewhat hard to assult an enemy island well in Feudal due to the towers.
I strongly recommend that you play this on a map size appropriate to the number of players to prevent overcrowding and elimination of some of the land space & resources. In fact, for 2 players I like the 3-player size map, for 3 players, the 4-player map, and especially for 8 players, the Giant size map.
A lot of time and experimentation have gone into making this map work! Feedback appreciated. Hope you enjoy this 'secret' feature of AOK:TC!
Note that a minor adjustment has been made from the original version that sometimes would cause too little open land on the central island at 8-players on the largest two map sizes and 6-players at the LARGE map size.
Yes, I enjoyed it. Here's how I recommend you to play it:
Choose a naval civilisation, like the Vikins or Koreans. Build a blacksmith, then research Fletching, Bodkin Arrow, and Bracer as you advance trough the ages to get maximum range and power for your towers. Once you reach Castle Age, build Demolition Ships to hunt down the enemy Sea Towers (send at least two demo ships at each tower -this is enough to destroy it, but you may need a third if one of them are destroyed).
If you have an ally with a dock, build trade cogs and start getting gold this way (once you clear out the enemys' towers in the way, if any).
Once you reach Imperial Age, reseach Chemistry and build Cannon Galleons. If there's still any Sea Towers left, these ships will put an end to them.
