Version: The Conquerors
MFO@UltimateLand by RF_Gandalf and MFO@Mapster

Ultimate Land is the latest release from MFO@Mapster. This random map script is great for those who like RM, TurboRM or DM on a mainly land setting. This script gives a wide variety of map types, some quite familiar but others differ from the norm a bit.

What does the script include? About half of the time the map is very plain with randomly chosen amounts and sizes of forest clumps, terrain patterns, randomly determined amounts of elevation and cliffs, possible ponds, and standard resources. These are somewhat similar to Arabia but with more variability in the forest percentage, forest clump size, and terrain.

The other half of the time the map may look either similar to known maps or quite unique. Some are like Highland or Yucatan, with some water partly separating players or teams, but never completely blocking access by land, or like Scandinavia with a little water at edges. Some have a central lake or sea like Mediterranean but much smaller, so that you never really have to go with boats. Some have a central forest like Oasis, with or without a body of water there. There is a chance of a central or edge area of shallows, with possible small patches of open water. Any central lake or shallows may contain islands as well. Players may be separated by a strip of shallows, kind of like Highland with the water replaced by shallows. There is a chance of a Salt Marsh type of map but with much smaller patches of water.

Another map type includes a chance of a wilderness area along the edges or at the center of the map, with randomly determined forests, scattered trees, mountains, ponds and randomly chosen extra resources scattered around. For example, those maps with central or edge wilderness have a 10% each of having 5 extra relics, extra berries, extra boar, extra sheep/turkeys, extra boar, extra deer, extra stone or gold or extra wolves/jaguars in this defined area.

All of these various possibilities have one thing in common - a fair random map focused on land warfare (admittedly the ones with water could involve water fighting, but these are a minority and the water areas are small enough to be ignored if desired).

Try Ultimate Land for a new random map experience!

We have inclued 3 versions: the main version has 21 different terrain patterns, three of which have some degree of snow and/or ice, the Summer version (-S) with 18 terrain patterns with NO snow or ice, and the Green version (-G) with 12 all-green terrain combinations since that is popular.

Feedback appreciated!

dragon14 As usual, MFO maps are some of the highest quality. But this map, when it does span a water map, in my opinion does place too many fish to be comfortable. While the fishing is noticably far less compared to other MFOMapster maps, its still (sometimes) a great bounty that cannot be ignored.
First time I played this, it made a medit style map, altho I will admit it looked much better. Problem is there are too many fish, allowing for water warfare and boat booming (I assumed the water stunk, based on the description, but as I finally gg'd my opponent, I saw the real extent of the fishing)

A great map, but with the occasional issue of too many fish (I would much rather see water that is like that Saracen campaign, with the crappy fish, the desert with little stone,)
