I updated the Relic Hunter rms now (RF_GANDALF). The walls are nearer now, the map hasn't got so much forest, and the wolf bug was fixed, there is only one wolf group there on the middle of the map every game, not scaled to the number of players anymore.
Unique idea, kind of a combination of the ES maps Hallowed Ground, Fortress and Metropolis. The author has made some good corrections to his previous version, correcting many of the flaws, so I have upgraded the review as well. There was formerly entirely too much forest with too many cliffs and large walled areas, but now the map is much more navigible. A remaining fault is the size of the walled areas - they almost touch in crowded maps with high player numbers. There are still too many predators in a large group for my taste, but it is his idea and he can do what he likes!
Theme: 3. The author has made a good idea with unique combination of features. A defensive type map with starting walls. A couple of faults are noted in the script causing fewer than scripted start area trees and there is a problem with the water terrains scripted as well. The elevation is not handled equally in the 2 terrain patterns.
Visual Appeal: 4. Improved over the original map. Has two random terrain patterns for variation.
Playability: 3. This is an atypical map in that there is 2 TCs at the start. I did not like the huge group of predators in the map. The map was fun to play, but the comp AI did not handle it well. As far as repeat play I think the map would lose the 'fun' factor after a few tries simply because of the difference in game style needed to play it.
