UPDATES:
*You now start with a scout cavalry rather than two hunting wolves.
*Water is more evenly spread.
*Fish are more evenly spread.
*Resources are more fair.
*Plant growth has been added.
*Misc. Minor Tweaks.
STORY:
You start your reign in the middle of "river of grass" - the Everglades. You experience many challenges here, but your spirit fires you on. You must use resources and especially land sparingly. Beware of the other tribes that would steal this land and build outposts to blockade you from leaving.
Later, the Seminole Indians would use this same swamp to hide out from the Spanish and U.S. Army.
STARTING CONDITIONS:
You start out with a TC and villagers as normal. At the start, you will see an outburst of macaws, displaying the richness of this paradise (Do this in slow mode and it looks really beautiful).
MAP FEATURES:
This map contains a land base surround by miles of swamp. Within this swampland, one may find small slices of land and pools of water. This land is rich in wildlife and forage bushes. You start with four boars near your camp! - but you'll need all you can get.
MAP STRATEGIES:
This map can be played both in a normal random map and a death match - both are just as fun. Note: This map is like none other.
*Use land sparingly
*Secure a water pool to build a navy.
*Hunt.
*Collect relics (especially important in death match).
*Fast units, ranged units, and navies work well.
*Suggested civs:
-Huns (no houses)
-Chinese
-Vikings
-Franks
-Saracens
-Spanish
-Many more
*In death match, keep up a strong economy early.
*Bombard towers work well, especially in death match.
*Build lots of outpost/towers on the land pieces.

This was the must fun I think I've ever had playing the computer. Perhaps it was the settings. Perhaps it just turned out that way. But MAN oh MAN it was a battle to rival any.
I love this map. |

I realize my review was quite short, so to elaborate:
The marsh looked beautiful. I played as Mayans, which added even more visual splendor to the game.
There were four computer players: my ally, two opposing allies, and a neutral player.
Soon I was under heavy and constant attack by my Goth enemy - walling off was almost impossible, and I was forced to abandon my town and seek refuge in my ally's.
My Chinese ally was under brutal assault from the combined armies, was fatally stricken, but I survived to cripple both civs with well-timed sneak attacks. Just as I was wiping out the second enemy, the neutral player built a wonder and laid seige to the shattered Chinese fortress where my refugees had rebuilt.
It was simply the best map with the right civs for hours of fun. |

Stunning!
TS@Everglades V1.1 is dark, exotic, and dangerously tangled: perfect for a tryst.
It was late when I finally got around my browsers download bug and installed. I really just wanted to take a quick look at the map. I remembered the mention of the Indians, hiding from the Spanish in the instructions, and so I chose The Spanish and two Mayan Computer Players fittingly. I went standard with most settings and a 25 population limit and Map Revealed. After all I was just going to have a look. So at first, I played without any zeal and spent the first minutes in awe of this Masterpiece...
An hour later, under the clandestine cover of a mangrove forest, between the marsh landscape, where saw grass meets sea grass and freshwater mingles with salt that I realized I was probably having the most challenging fun, that I ever experienced in a Build and Destroy. The Indians had allied and I was constantly under attack, and my poor effort at deploying any real strategy, had me now under a time limit to retrieve my relic or lose the game. Well, I lost well, got a ribbon for my grave, and was late for work in the morning...Thanks svede!
The script is a lavish feast for the senses that has me asking for seconds.
A must download for scenario map designers!
