Not a bad map, but with an object placement problem. Sometimes mountains are placed too near the TCs which limits a player's ability to farm there, makes it a bit uneven.
THEME: 3 The author describes an area after a forest fire, with more than usual resources, and a similarity to Black Forest type of gameplay. He does an OK job in these things. The script has a few peculiarities, including odd connection statements that include lots of terains not found in the map and have no obvious use.
VISUAL APPEAL: 4 This map represents a burned out area (not HELL!!), and within the limits of the AOK artwork available does an OK job of that.
PLAYABILITY: 3 Unfortunately playability is marred by 2 factors. First, there can be large areas not accessible because there is so much forest, I saw numerous examples where resources were locked away from a player's ability to use them. Second is the problem with mountains occuring next to a player's TC mentioned above.
The problem with the mountain placement might be fixed by using a larger base size and/or scripting the mountains to place further from other objects using the command : min_distance_group_placement. The resource placement in forest-locked areas would only be fixed by changing the way the terrains and lands and base_terrain are scripted.
The author should consider making these changes and I would be glad to re-evaluate the script.
