MFO@Survivor is a new nomad type of random map script. You start with just standard resources and two units: a Monk and a Scythian Wild Woman (who replaces your scout). Scattered around your start area are 8 gaia vills (per player) at varying distances waiting to be found and to join your side.
The map is a land map with many small ponds, with a little less than usual gold and stone, many extra berry bushes and each player gets an extra larger-than-normal herd of deer. There are plenty of shorefish in the ponds, but only the usual starting 2 boar per player.
Here is a full map screenshot to demonstrate the script:
The first few minutes of each game are filled with quite intense scouting with your units, trying to find both your own and your enemy's gaia villagers, to convert any enemy with your monk you come across, to attack any enemy units you see with your SWW. Some caution is needed to keep from losing your starting Monk and SWW, though obviously you need not fear TC fire at the start. Note that the SWW does NOT have the same conversion resistance as a Scout Cav. Using these different units at the start while trying to get your economy going is a fun challange to master.
With only the usual starting resources (not an extra 275W and 100S like in the regular nomad map), you will have to get a lumber camp up soon and get the extra wood needed to build your initial TC. One nice thing is that although you start without a TC, if you quickly find all the nearby vills you will not really be much behind a normal start - 8 vills within a couple minutes.
Note that the Computer AI cannot play this map at all as it cannot convert gaia vills, nor does it use the SWW properly.
Note that we have some additional Survivor versions to be released soon!
