Legend Of The Knight - Prologue
It had been years after The Knight died. The Empire is destroyed and the world is in peace...
Two young men are traveling in a forest, looking for the legendary lake - Lake Garoli. It had been said that after The Knight died, the Holy Sword, Madiolas, is thrown into this lake.
David, who did not know who was The Knight, curiously asked his brother, Eric. Eric is much older than David and he is a squire. Then Eric tells David of this story, a story that is in all people's heart... The Legend Of The Knight...
Ok, This is my first scenario, so please comment on it after you played it. All you need to do is to click a few units when you are told to, and enjoyed the show!
The Legend Of The Knight - Prologue will bring you into this story, a story of a young boy who became a hero. If you like the prologue, I'm sure that you will like the campaign too! |

Opps, I forgot to tell you that this is a small cut-scene scenario. So you basically don't need to do much. Enjoy! |

Tip-Top notch! I think the entire thing will be very good, I can't wait!
Some of the things I liked:
The story, it was good, it reminded me of Secret of Mana, and the Swallowed realms.
Map Design was also excellent, the lake was very nice.
Hope others will download it as well!

Another big problem I found out, I didn't include the Imobile Units AI! You can download it from the AI files "Imobile Units AI" by Zanzard Lothar.
Also, credit to Zanzard Lothar for the Imobile AI, SCN punk sound database for the thunder sounds. |

“Legend of the Knight” is a very sweet and enjoyable prologue. I think The Conqueror has just shown everyone that he has what it takes to make great campaigns. The storyline and instructions are very easy to use, and the map design is very nice and detailed.
Well, keep it up. I will definitely be looking forward the release of “Legend of the Knight”

The Legend of the Knight Prologue is a pretty well done cutscene scenario. Not many individual cutscenes are out there, so you are in for a unique treat.
The playability was mediocre. The knights often ride into darkness before the view is changed upon them and map revealers are created via triggers. Also, the story was pretty short and it just lacks excitement since there was no battles or sieging of a city included.
Because this is a cutscene scenario, a balance mark can't really be given. So, the same score for playability will be given.
The creativity was good, since I think that this is one of the first times where the "click unit speeches" trigger trick is ever used in cutscenes. However, there was no other creative parts and all other trigger manuevers in the scenario are mediocre and average.
The map design is most excellent, probably one of the best I have seen in a long time. The author puts flowers and trees into good use and really makes the landscape look great. I am really impressed by this one.
The story was a little bleak, since all it talked about was 2 knights going into an inn and some boy getting enslaved. Because there is also no need for instructions as balance in a cutscene scenario, no marks will be deducted for lack of instructions. But since the story is not as good as it could be so a four will be given.
+ Points
- Excellent map design
- Good creativity
- Points
- Need more work on the story
- Need to make the events in the scenario more exciting, or add exciting events into the scenario
Final Thoughts: Overall, this is a pretty well done scenario and is deserving of some appraisal. I don't think I've seen to many scenarios done by this author so I am making a wild guess that this is one of his first scenarios. So great job and keep it up (I won't bore you once more with my speech about the importance of effort ;-) )! |

“The Legend of the Knight” is a pretty good prologue, but because it is just a demo this campaign score may not reflect what the real game would have earned. For the most part, I would never review a demo, but here I will make an exception to the rule.
The playability was decent and there weren’t any bugs, which would crash the game. However, there a few things in terms of trigger setting which could have been done better. Stan was right on the spot when he mentioned the minor issue with the knights riding dark areas at time. This is a slight issue, but it was playable by all means. In summary, the playability could have been better, but it is nonetheless above average.
The balance is indeed the major issue with any demos/prologue. Here the game suffers because the balance is virtually non existent, so I agree with Stan once again that an average score will do the trick. The main point to keep in mind is that because there isn’t a challenge the game will lose in replay values.
The creativity was excellent, and The conqueror has done a great job in this area. However, the game falls short of a 5.0 because many things, which were used in this campaign, were done before. Overall, I’m still very confident that the author would have pushed the creativity much further if it had been a full version.
The map design was very good. The only problem that I can see is that we don’t get to use the whole map, but then again this is a prologue.
The problem with the storyline is that when begin to get a feel for the story the game ends which was a bit disappointing. The instructions were as good as it can be and I doubt anyone will have problem completing this sweet but short prologue.
In the end, I feel that The_Conqueror has done a great job in his first campaign, and he has shown everyone that he has what it takes to take on the best designers. In brief, “The Legend of the Knight” is a well-presented prologue and it is also a nice campaign to download. |
