This map is a rainforest map like yucatan with similar resources. The difference is that in the middle of the map there is a lake of shallows with an island bearing huge amounts of gold in the middle. This makes the map a bit like gold rush, but it is hard to defend the gold with buildings. The people who helped test this map with me agreed that the best feature is that you need a more troop based defence of the centre gold, hence it is harder for one team or player to keep hold of it, making for a more exciting, open game.
Early attacks are an obvious option, and it is harder to keep a walled defensive in a late-imperial game, due to the shallows. Running to the centre gold just after the game starts may not be the best option due to the numbers of jaguars which skulk near the gold. However, a feudal attempt to gain control of the gold turned out to be the best tactic discovered during playtesting.
Make some comments - if you people out there want some changes, i will gladly ammend the map.
