The Conquerors 1.0c |
This map is a whole random world, of course a flat world! North is on upper left edge.
Temperate regions are made of european-like continents at west and asian-like continents at east; there\'s jungle at the equatorial region, while moving towards the poles you find snow. Some snow may also appear on higher mountains. Deserts and swamps can form at many latitudes.
All lands are usually connected, but sometimes two or more continents may be separated.
Jungle yields extra food, snow yields extra gold, desert yields extra stone; all relics are hidden on polar ices. |

Very creative, nice try!
My suggestions:
-More deer in temperate region
-Jaguars/wolves in Jungle
-starting yurts min. distance from TC>=6 |

This random map generates pretty looking maps! The huge size map appears to be bigger! |

Surely it was a temporary problem, however to be sure I uploaded the file again, with the suggested small updates (btw there have always been jaguars in jungle!). |

I found the map pretty interesting from the descriptions, but there is a little problem: When I tried to download your script, it had given me a page: File not found. Hmmm. Maybe you should upload your file again. |

OK! Download ready, I'll try it out today. By the way, did you know that the gamedata_x1.drs file in the data directory contains the original RMS scripts and these can be replaced with custom maps so you can generate your own maps in the Scenario Editor. Interesting, isn't it? |

I think editing gamedata_x1.drs is useful for scenario makers, but not that much for RMS makers. I tried and sometimes it didn't work well, maybe a binary editor should be used instead of a normal text editor such as Wordpad. Always make a backup copy of gamedata_x1.drs!! :)
However, I think the easiest way to test an RMS is setting up a test game! |

Of course. I tested the RMS. The maps really look good, but I bet, you've created this as a multiplayer map. I would really appreciate if you'd create a singleplayer version too, because I just haven't got enough time to test your RMS in multiplayer (parents!). I recommend the following for singleplayer:
-Scout cavalry (MUST! Computer Players don't use civilian scouts and can't have access to resources and other stuff)
-Larger space on the map. (I tried to fortify my town, but I didn't find a place for a nasty gate!!!) |

I played with computers lots of times, and usually most of them played good.
However I updated the map, adding a militia (I never put scouts in my maps, since they're a feudal unit :P ) and making starting lands slightly bigger.
Sorry but I can't make them too big... otherwise the player_lands (that look all the same) would dominate over the climatic variations of the World! |
