Gandalf's Twin Forest is the first of a series of new random maps which give some new variety to the 'michi' style of maps. There are two bands of forest that separate each team, and these are thinner than on the standard 'michi' maps. Some extra resources are located in the middle open ground, but on the base map the resources are otherwise pretty standard.
Game play differs a little from the usual 'michi' map in that the open middle ground can allow a little change in how gaps through the forest are exploited or defended.
The map is all green terrains, with random variability in forest type.
This map should be played at a size greater than the number of players, at least with 6-8 players, to prevent overcrowding and partial or complete envelopement of the end players' starting positions with forest.
A "HighResource" version is included for those who like to play with much greater than the usual starting resources.
Two "Limited" versions are also included (one std resources, one high resources) which are designed to be played only by a limit of 6 players or less. These give a slightly wider center area and slightly wider forest bands between teams. These will give space problems if played at a size too small for the number of players.
Check the AOKH Blacksmith for two similar new 'Michi' maps - Gandalf's Twin Forest-River and Gandalf's Twin Forest-Winter.
