This SLP-Installer mod changes the useless "Church 4" square in the scenario "New units and objects template.scx" into a nice large castle from a Pre-Alpha version of AoK, which you can have permanently in the game and use anyhow you want in your scenarios.
NOTE: You have to have the scenario "New units and objects template.scx" in your AoK scenario folder in order to see this mod take effect. You can unzip the one in the mod's .zip file or:
Download it here:
And here's a pic of how the modpack looks like when installed in the game.

It is pretty good. Thing is, the self installer couldn't run. Anyone else have that problem? Any way, I made it into a MPS file and I could use it. But now when I copy it to a different map, my game crashes. It looks great though.
Render, there is another castle? Could you show me a pic? |

Agamemnon,
I have a request for you. I'm beginning work on a modpack that changes Teutonic Knights into Treefolk. However, I have no knowledge on how to change unit names (like you did with Wizards and Warlocks), so I was wondering if you could do that part of the modpack for me. I'd give you full credit for that in the modpack's credits.
Thanks,
Lord Tael'Endyr |

Agamemnon,
I thought you were making a Roman modpack... whatever happened to that?
I would love to use it in my up and coming campaign that will remain anonymous for the time being... |

Penguin, I'm still helping on the Roman mod. It may still take a long time for it to be out but it'll be worth the wait. |

Speaking of wizards and warlocks, that should really be redone for TC. It sounds interesting. |

This castle worked great for a spanish castle. I used triggers to change the name and hp and hid 3 towers behind it and raised there attacks. Thanks Agammanmon. |

The Mod Pack replaces the Church 4 square in Utility ID 167 New units and new objects template v.1.1 by Enrique Orduno into a castle from the Pre-Alpha version of AoK. The download is labelled AoK and works also for the TC version.
USEFULNESS/NOVELTY: Excellent, you can have this mod pack installed permanently because it does not change any of your buildings in the editor; on the contrary it adds a nice looking mysterious castle for your scenario design, Church 4 is not needed and fits the Mod well by its size. You can apply change name and change HP triggers to it. The different uses are indeterminable, it can serve as a Spanish castle, as well as a mysterious, magical building, as the house of the evil, a mansion, the government headquarters, a residence of Orcs, and depending the player colour it gives a special atmosphere; it fits into a forest, on cliffs, in a mountain region, the desert, as well as in a park, a town or a city. The download includes an earlier version of Enrique's template, missing the Twals but adding a second church 4 at a bridge to view another good use of the mod. The player should d/l Utility ID 418 Church 4 uses by Reich to testify another dimension this mod gives to that utility, but view the utility at least once without the Mod before the installation. A Mod is finally knighted by its use in one of the great scenarios of HGs' blacksmith, Campaign IDs 512 and 1188 The Underworld and The Underworld II by Bearded_Dragon make good use of the Pre-Alpha Castle. Undoubted novelty factor, the first to replace church 4, a unique mod. 5
QUALITY/INSTRUCTIONS: Perfect quality, I did not realise any error, excellent graphics, and playing the Underworld the mod looks like it came with the game. The instructions were exemplary, if you never installed a mod pack, start with this one, you don't need any program, everything is in the download, including a mod installer from AoErat and it is easy to install, just follow the instructions in the read me. Furthermore the designer is informed on the author's description page what the mod pack is for and which unit it replaces. 5
IN CLOSING: A great design tool and a must download whenever you come across a church 4 beta. |
