Eye Candy Bazaar

Author File Description
Agamemmnon
File Details
Version: The Conquerors

This replaces the Trade Workshop available
for the Middle Eastern(Byzantine, Saracen, ect.) building set that may be pretty useful as eyecandy to add more feel to your Middle-Eastern cities and towns. I made this mod in 3d Studio Max R3, which is the graphics application ES used to make AoK's graphics.

Also, an SLP of the Bazaar building is included, so you can do pretty much anything you want with it, even permanently
install it in your game! ;-)

I decided to review agamemnon’s mod since it’s such a fine piece of art :).

Playability

Score Breakdown:
5.0 – Excellent: Has no bugs.

This was an easy one. It was a simple building, so most buildings should have a 5 in this area.

Usefulness

Score Breakdown:
5.0 – Excellent: Has many different uses, worth permanently installing!

Yet again another easy one, this was an excellent mod and a beautiful job with 3dMax ;).

Creativity

Score Breakdown:
4.0 – Good: Pretty creative. There is something really special to it, something really innovative, but it's not unique and completely new.

Well I remember a couple of building mods, and this kind of idea is used every once in a while.

Quality

Score Breakdown:
4.5 – Good+: The graphics are good, somewhat impressive and/or the sounds are still fuzzy or unclear, but hardly noticeable.

Even though the design is beautiful, I disliked the player color on it, it looks kind of fake, and looks like you did it in paint with that circle tool, but still nice :).

Final Thoughts

-- Playability: 5
-- Usefulness: 5
-- Creativity: 4
-- Quality: 4.5
-- Final score: 4.5

Overall this is one of the best building modpacks ever made, and very realistic, very AOK like and very well done.
This would be a 4.6, but it would be over rated if I gave him a 5, so it’s a 4.5 :D.

So all in all, great job Aga! :)

The Mod Pack replaces the Trade Workshop for the Middle Eastern civilizations, Persian, Byzantine, Saracen and Turk with a bazaar.

USEFULNESS/NOVELTY: The bazaar is quite useful, the design creative and a good idea to replace the trade workshop with a typical medieval building for the Middle East. It was new for me, but for the reasons under quality, it is not worth to install the mod permanently. Eye candy bazaar is good to use for a particular scenario, when you need this special atmosphere and is included in Ash the Avenger by Cavscout74. 4.25

QUALITY/INSTRUCTIONS: The graphics are good, no noticeable error, professional to make the bazaar appear smaller than the buildings. On the downside the bazaar's hue is too colour-bright, unrealistic. The colour blending would fit sweetmeats in a candy-store and looks misplaced in the game. The instructions were perfect, the download comes with a screenshot, read me, a slp and akx file, you read what the mod pack replaces, which civilisations to use and that the designer used 3d Studio Max R3. 4.5

OVERALL: 4.375 rounded to 4.5 and I recommend the Eye Candy Bazaar.

IN CLOSING: Sorry if I sound a bit harsh, but Agamemmnon is one of the few top mod makers and I hope that he corrects the colours with an update for a perfect rating.
