This is my first mod ever, so don\'t get to mad over it if you think it stinks. It features a paladin with no insides(meaning you can see the outlines of the paladin only, the inside is invisible). It is quiet well deatailed, and is not the least bit choppy(GOES_WITH_THE_FLOW. Tell me what you think of my first mod, any questions my e-mail is listed below. If you want to use it ask me and ill give pass(NOTE:just ask me for pass so i can play the scenario/campaign you played with my mod, no credit is required in the scenario). Please give me all negative comments and possitive comments. thx
The Shadow Knight by Spectore is a unit created in MS paint, which is half jet black, and half transparent, creating a shadowy, ghost-like unit.
Usefulness/Novelty: 4
The unit is a very useful unit for fantasy games where you have some sort of ghost or undead soldier resurrected. The fact that half the unit is transparent means you really only see the outline of the unit. The rest of it is transparent so instead of seeing the body you see the terrain or whatever is behind it. The idea is very clever and something I have not seen before and I think it's very original. Unfortunately because the unit is Jet Black and the rest is transparent, it can be quite hard to see on certain terrains. It looks absolutely fantastic on Snow and Ice terrains but it can be very hard to see on some of the darker terrains, which means it might not always be as effective.
Quality/Instructions: 4
The quality of the unit is excellent. Especially seeing as is was created on MS Paint. The frames are fluent and there is nothing wrong with the way the unit moves or behaves in the game. The only flaw that I have found with it is the one I stated above about visibility. The only other problem with this mod pack is not a problem with the unit itself. The unit was created back in 2003 and was therefore submitted as an AKX file, which means it needs Mod Pack Studio to open. Back in 2003 MPS was a popular modding tool but it doesn't function with newer 64 bit operating systems. Most people now use Turtle Pack which edit SLP and DRS files, not AKX files. However, if you're desperate to use this file there is a way to extract the SLP files from the AKX, and I will post a link to the guide at the end of this review.
Additional Comments:
Overall this unit is an awesome unit to use in your fantasy scenario as a ghost or undead shadowy knight. A recommened download if you're willing to extract the SLPs from the AKX yourself.
